Advanced Body Massage

"The body is precious. It's our vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care." - Buddha

Using carrier oils, I incorporate many different techniques into my body massage treatments, depending on how each client is feeling, psychologically and physically, to aim to induce physical and emotional relaxation and stimulate circulation.

Neuromuscular
Neuromuscular is a technique using the thumb to successfully alleviate muscle pain and spasms.
The technique may feel slightly painful or tender in places, but very quickly releases lactic acid out of the muscles to help blood and oxygen flow back in easily.
Acupressure
Acupressure originates from Oriental Medicine - this focuses on an individual's internal energy and how balanced it is, using the theory of Yin and Yang.
Although I am not fully trained in Acupressure, I do use specific routines in each of my treatments to help re-balance client's energy (or Ki) and relax tense muscles.

Shiatsu
I am currently in Year 3 of my Shiatsu massage training. It originated in Japan from traditional Chinese medicine.
Shiatsu literally means 'finger pressure' and works on the whole person - not just with the physical body, but also with the psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person.
